I Believe It Is Today
The cherubims and seraphims
say today will be my spirit day.
I will not dispute,
as I want to believe.
I will go along with the grind.
I will continue to vend.
I can loose a thousand stuck lids before I tire.
I will continue to hold tight all things
as dear to me as the fragrance from a clutch of flowers.
I will hold tight with veins that sluice
down my arms and entangle my hands.
Hold tight, like hands clasped in strong church.
It is not what you are presently doing.
It is what you will become.
All I need do is last long enough to learn.
